“RENT’S DUE”
I worked in commercial real estate for seven years after I graduated college. By the end, I was miserable. There had to be something more for me than punching buttons in a spreadsheet to “maximize shareholder value.” When I was laid off in May 2024, I embarked on a journey to build a better life for myself.
My newsletter is called “Rent’s Due” because I send it out on the first of month just like a rent payment. It is my rent payment to anyone willing to invest a bit of their time into supporting my work… and it also reminds me of the career I left behind, which lived and died on rent payments.
Topics vary, but everything is under the umbrella of growth and self-improvement. I send “Rent’s Due” monthly and provide sporadic other updates, but I’ll never blow up your inbox. Plus, I send a free Lightroom preset as a thank you for signing up.
May 15th, 2024 - I pose with my severance papers as I clear out my desk in the final moments of my corporate career.
