Past
Who else had a dream as a kid? Mine was to play shortstop for the New York Yankees until I realized I sucked at baseball. But then I started drumming, and I was actually good at that… like, really good. Unfortunately, talent isn’t what makes your dreams come true. Discipline and fearlessness do. And at 17, I had neither, which I why I quit drumming and went to college for finance and real estate.
Present
In 2019, I landed a commercial real estate job in Charlotte that I was really excited about. On paper, it was a great job. Four years in, I hated it and was too jaded to consider anything remotely similar. I tried to start drumming again, but I couldn’t get over the mental block of my skill regression. But in early 2023, my cousin had me test out a film camera he wanted to buy. That one roll of film immediately pulled me back in to photo and video, which, like drumming, I had also done in high school.
Future
I don’t have a crystal ball. I’m just like everyone else that doesn’t have it figured out in their 20’s… but I am trying to get there. And at least this time, I didn’t choose my career path based on safety.

In terms of content, my work is about the human experience. That’s why my photos are mostly of people. I’m either sharing my own experience or I’m helping someone else share theirs. The whole point of making art should be to give your people a flag to wave.
In terms of style, I like to approach it like a tattoo artist. There are certain styles and techniques I am experienced with, and you’ll see those in my portfolio. But I love to experiment and be challenged to accomplishing something new.

In a word, value.
You have endless choices in this space. You can get your buddy with a camera to shoot for free... you could go the other direction and hire a professional production house with a five-figure, sometimes six-figure price tag for a single project. Either of those two choices may actually be the best choice for you depending on your needs.
But I'm neither of those choices. I may not have the endless resources of a production house, but as an individual or leading a small team, I am far more affordable and nimble than that production house and will still produce work that you would be proud to be associated with… work that’s much better than you’ll get from someone willing to work for free.

Yes - just about anywhere so long as travel costs are included in the project's scope.

Yes, always.
